Remembering The Georgian Fashion Remix Show
A year ago today (22 October 2014) GILES took part in the Georgian Fashion Remix in the opulent surroundings of the Orangery at Kensington Palace.
The show was part of a programme of Glorious Georges events marking three centuries since George I took to the throne. The GILES catwalk featured couture looks that reflected their aristocratic surroundings and Deacon’s own historic influences as well as the brand’s extensive archive. Key looks such as the red swan dress from S/S 12, the black bat gown from S/S 14 and burnt embers dress from A/W 12 were paired with theatrical headpieces by Stephen Jones.
As always, GILES’ model line-up was as dramatic as the clothes. Jessica Stam, Jacquetta Wheeler, Catherine McNeil, Erin O’Connor, Lindsey Wixson and Ella Richards all wore ensembles overflowing with feathers, lace, brocades and hand-tooled leather.
Special guests included Jaime Winstone, Gwendoline Christie, M.I.A, Tallulah Harlech, Bella Freud, Matthew Stone, Deirdre Murphy, Jade Parfitt, Tim Blanks, Princess Julia, Hilary Alexander and Serena Rees.
