Lightsabers at the ready for a new Star Wars inspired collection for charity
To celebrate the hugely anticipated launch of Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, GILES joins an impressive roll call of design talent who have teamed up with Disney Consumer Products and Bloomingdales for a new fashion-meets-fundraising initiative, ‘Force 4 Fashion’, to each create outfits that pay homage to the characters in the film.
The collection was revealed this week at an event organised by Kay Jewelers in New York and is now on display in the windows of Bloomingdale’s flagship store in the city, where they will be auctioned off on CharityBuzz.com, with the proceeds donated to Child Mind Institute on behalf of Star Wars: Force For Change – an initiative that strives to empower people to make a positive impact on the world around them.

In an exclusive photo shoot for Vanity Fair, Giles Deacon posed alongside Gwendoline Christie – who plays Captain Phasma in the film – modelling his design: a floor-sweeping, ruffle-sleeved gown emblazoned with a photographic print of her character in full chrome-chrome plated glory.
