Highlights from this year’s British Fashion Awards
The glitterati were out in full force last night at the London Coliseum for the prestigious British Fashion Awards, celebrating British style in all its glory.
Models Daisy Lowe and Erin O’Connor both walked the red carpet resplendent in floor length GILES gowns from his S/S 16 collection.
Hailed as one of the most important events in the fashion calendar, the British Fashion Council’s annual event acknowledged designers, models and media personalities alike for their unique contribution to the industry. As well as honours for menswear, womenswear and accessories, there were awards handed out for key rising stars, creative campaigns and fashion innovators.
Gwendoline Christie took home a much-coveted Swarovski crystal trophy after scooping up the award for Red Carpet Style Ambassador. Collecting the trophy, she said, “I want to thank the person without whom I would quite literally have nothing to wear. Giles Deacon”
Also making a statement in GILES was Jennifer Saunders in character as Edina Monsoon of Absolutely Fabulous fame - she took to the stage with pal Patsy Stone to present the Brand of the Year accolade to Stella McCartney, and the crowd went wild.
